 HIDDEN, a graphic novel
Written by Kati Preston and Illustrated by Dilleen March
HIDDEN is the compelling story told from the perspective of a hidden child of the Holocaust. The autobiographical novel invites its readers to experience the idyllic childhood of Ecaterina Ruben (Kati Preston), born in Hungary in 1939. The only child born to a Jewish father and a Catholic mother. The story takes a dark turn when Hungary falls under the Nazi regime. Kati's mother and a local farmgirl make the brave decision to hide Kati even though it is against the law and could cost them their lives. As a result of these courageous acts Kati still lives with us today. Twenty-eight members of Kati’s Jewish family perished in Auschwitz and Mauthausen and only one other student survived from her Jewish Kindergarten class. Kati's story has touched the lives of thousands and has been used to teach about the importance of history and acts moral courage.
HIDDEN was written in remembrance of all who have perished. It serves as a reminder of the power we possess to do the right thing when facing unrestrained hatred and persecution. Moral courage is needed in these cruel and chaotic times more than ever. This beautifully illustrated tale from the heart is a testament to courage.

Holocaust to Healing- Closing the Circle
The autobiography of Kati Preston, Holocaust & cancer survivor mentor, public speaker, and campaigner against prejudice.
The book starting at the outset of World War II spans seven decades across seven countries: Hungary (Transylvania), Israel, France, Great Britain, Italy, Portugal & the U.S.A. It is a book that deftly chronicles love, persecution, triumph, adversity, turmoil, peace, affairs, partings, collaborations, betrayals, births and deaths. It is a veritable history lesson told with much humor, insights, incisiveness and empathy. She knew and interacted with many a famous person in multiple countries, in multiple scenarios. Now in her eighties she is an indefatigable and much sought after inspirational speaker to the younger generation – her message always that of love, tolerance, acceptance and inclusiveness given the experiences to the contrary she experienced firsthand.
