Kati learned how to cut fabric and sew garments from her mother, Gabriella who had a successful dressmaking business in Hungary.

At the age of 17 Kati was sent to Paris to study fashion. She was determined to work for Christian Dior. However, fate had other plans.

Years later in London, she became a well-known fashion designer under the label, Kati at Laura Phillips.
